Steeped in theatre and musical theatre at Washington State University, Corinna Quilliam discovered Opera while working as an Au Pair in France. Encouraged to pursue opera by a student of Franco Corelli’s, Ms. Quilliam was adopted in the studio of Metropolitan Opera soprano Mary Curtis Verna upon her return to Seattle. She currently works regularly with Met baritone Erich Parce and Met conductor William Vendice.

Ms. Quilliam is a recipient of a 2015 and 2014 Seattle Guild Education Grant. As a frequent guest soloist for the Seattle Opera Guild, Ms. Quilliam has essayed excerpts from The Consul, Turandot, Attila, Carmen, Suor Angelica, Falstaff, Il Trovatore and Manon Lescaut as well as numerous Galas. This fall she will be portraying the mother in Hansel & Gretel with Skagit Opera.

Music of Remembrance asked Ms. Quilliam to portray concentration camp survivor Krystyna Zywulska in a one woman chamber opera commissioned for Holocaust Remembrance Day. Another Sunrise, with libretto by Gene Scheer and composed by Jake Heggie tells Krystyna’s story.

Other roles in Ms. Quilliam’s repertoire include Madame Butterfly, Donna Elvira, the Trovatore Leonora, Aida, and Micaela for Bourgas Opera (Bulgaria), Opera North (NH), Opera in the Ozarks, St. Petersburg (FL) Opera and Bellevue Opera. She was a 2011 Emerging Artist with St. Petersburg Opera, 2010 Young Artist at Opera North and received the Dr. Alice Martinson and Carole Sturgis full scholarship at Opera in the Ozarks in 2007.
